What’s this page about?

If you’ve been trying to break into product design, user experience (UX), or user interface design for a year or two but haven't landed a job yet, or if you feel lost in your learning journey and need someone to guide you, I have a suggestion for you.

What’s my suggestion?

Over the course of three months, I’ll support you with training, mentorship, and hands-on project work to help you secure a job. By the end of this period, you'll be ready to start sending out resumes and, with some effort, land a job that’s truly satisfying for you (of course, what's ideal for each person varies). The goal is to start as an intern, junior, or entry-level designer, whether as a freelancer or with a company, depending on what suits you and the opportunities available.

What’s my approach?

For three months, every Thursday from 10 AM to 4 PM, we’ll meet online in a group of around 10 people. We’ll work together, share ideas, and make the day a productive and enjoyable one. I’ll assign you tasks to work on throughout the week, and you'll dedicate a few hours daily to thinking and practicing on your own. During the week, we'll also stay connected in a group to tackle any issues that come up. By the end of the three months, you’ll have a simple but effective resume and portfolio that will help you secure interviews.

Will we reach our goal?

We can’t know for sure. Breaking into a new field and learning new skills takes practice and time. It’s a journey that requires making continuous, well-thought-out decisions based on your circumstances to achieve the desired outcome. I’ve helped many friends—some landed jobs within a month, some gave up, and many had different experiences along the way. But in short, if this is a priority for you, it’s worth dedicating three months of effort.

What’s the cost?

First, you’ll need to make peace with making mistakes. Second, if you get a job, just give me your first paycheck—whatever the amount. It doesn’t matter how much it is. If you’re tight on money, we can arrange for you to pay me in installments. And if you don’t land a job and decide to move on after a few months, then it’s free—no charge. Lastly, make sure to organize yourself and dedicate time to your assignments.

Why am I doing this?

For the money, for the sense of purpose, and for learning. Let me tell you a little about myself. Back in 2016, when I seriously decided to pursue a career in this field, I felt like an orphan, expecting people to help me in my learning journey—even if it was just by sharing a useful blog post link. But it felt like no one saw how hard I was trying, and everyone was wrapped up in their own world. I would get frustrated, thinking how selfish and miserly people were when it came to teaching others (which, years later, I realized was a toxic and incorrect mindset). What I hope to help with is easing the pain of starting this journey.

How do I get started?

If this sounds like you, reach out to me on Linkedin/Twitter/Telegram, or wherever you can. We’ll have a chat, and once we’re on the same page, we’ll move forward.

If you know someone who might benefit from this, feel free to share this page with them. And if you’d like to support the cause and help a few fresh-faced designers, send me a message. We’ll use your generosity to buy IDF accounts, educational courses, and books for the team. If you’d also like to help with organizing these sessions, reach out, and we’ll find a way for you to contribute.

Regards 🍎✌🏼
